Our History

Global South CS started in 2016 on a visit to South Asia.  Upon learning about the challenges faced by those who harvest tea as bonded laborers on plantations, our founders felt the burden to do something.

So they asked hundreds of people, “What would be most helpful to your community?”  The number one answer was a desire for accessible, affordable medical care.  GSCS started working with local leaders to build a network of doctors, nurses and public health experts, and held the first medical outreach.

Since then hundreds of people like you have given time and money to meet real needs including human trafficking awareness, women’s health seminars, literacy, a school, eye and dental outreach, addiction awareness, and Trauma Healing carried out by local staff and volunteers.

Mission & Vision

Our Mission
To empower indigenous communities in Asia to thrive amid poverty and oppression through networking, training, and providing the material needs to get their initiatives off the ground.
Vision
We believe that a community's greatest resource for transformation are its own people and continue to empower them to make the changes they care about most. Global South CS seeks to build a global community of Sustainers and Champions to make their dreams a reality.
