School Awareness

South Asia has the largest number of people in slavery of any region in the world.  Children account for nearly half.  Since many travel long distances daily to schools in the city, they are at an even higher risk for abduction.  Partner with local police and teachers  to empower these students to say NO!

Today, there are 49.6 million people in modern slavery worldwide, and 12 million of them are children with 54% of those trapped in modern slavery being women and girls. (ILO, United Nations) This $150 billion a year industry strikes the most economically vulneralble the hardest.  

Global South CS focuses on prevention by educating families and young people about the schemes traffickers use to lure their victims into slavery.
